Domain Name Registration Features
Unlike some registrars, we put YOUR name on all the contact details associated with the domain name. This is important in our eyes when registering your domain name. We have encountered issues when some of our customers have wanted to transfer their domain name to our system, only to find out that they are not the admininistrive contact so they couldn't do this easily. They had to rely on their existing supplier to do the transfer, obviously this may incur delays and possibly additional costs. Our system places you as the administrive contact, giving you full control from day 1.
Remember the Domain Period
The minimum period for registering .UK domains is 2 years. International domains have a minimum period of 1 year.
Note: Once the domain has been registered there is no way to correct any mistakes with the actual spelling or level of it. Please ENSURE that you are 100% certain that the name you are registering is exactly how you want it.

The following features are available when you either register or transfer your domain name. If you simply point your nameservers to ours you will have to control your domain, including billing with your existing supplier.

Redirects allow you to make a specific web page redirect to another page and display the contents of that page. This way you can make a page with a long URL accessible by a page which has a shorter and easier to remember URL.
The default email address will "catch" any mail that is sent to an invalid email address for your domain. All mail that is sent to an address that does not exist will go to the default email address. To send all default mail to the main mail account, simply type the user name of your cPanel account in the email address input field.
Configure you domains in Cpanel to suit your webmail
Parked Domains (Domain pointers) allow you to "point" or "park" additional domain names to your existing hosting account. This will allow users to also reach your website when entering the "parked" or "pointed" domain into their browsers.
An addon domain allows you to reach a sub-domain when entering the name of the addon domain into a browser. This means that you can host additional domains from your account, if allowed by your hosting provider. Addon Domains are relative to your account's home directory and will consume resources as per your account limits.

Once the domain name has either been registered or transfered, DNS updates may take up to 72 hours. We very rarely experience this, especially with .uk accounts, but be prepare to wait. This is nothing to do with Lincwebhosting. Any DNS changes have to propogate across the internets DNS servers.
